Sabalenka’s power, with interruptions
Sabalenka opened with a 6-2, 6-4 win over No. 59 Maria Camila Osorio Serrano, although three straight breaks made the early exchanges less orderly than the score suggests. Her hard-court power remains decisive, but clean service stretches have not been automatic.
Iatcenko arrives after beating No. 74 Renata Zarazua 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(7) in nearly three and a half hours. The workload and reported right-leg concern matter, yet so does the manner of the win: she stayed forward, survived repeated danger and declined several invitations to leave the tournament.
A wide line asks for unusual tidiness
Sabalenka should control Iatcenko’s vulnerable second serve and dictate most short exchanges. Covering an eight-game margin, however, requires two sets with very little leakage, and Sabalenka has recently supplied opponents with loose return games and abandoned leads.
Iatcenko does not need to threaten an upset. One competitive set, or a handful of games collected during Sabalenka’s familiar loss of rhythm, can keep her inside +7.5 games; even 6-2, 6-3 is enough.
