Diana Shnaider — Jelena Ostapenko के लिए भविष्यवाणियाँ
Shnaider has taken three straight-set wins in Wuhan, including a 7-5, 6-3 finish against Muchova after a demanding first set. Ostapenko can hit through that control, but her level has come in bursts: she lost the middle set 1-6 to Fernandez and later said fatigue had caught up with her.
The physical details matter here. Ostapenko needed treatment for her right arm against Pegula, returned strapped and said she had a lot of pain; she took a painkiller. She also played singles and doubles the day before Fernandez, and made seven double faults in that match. Shnaider’s doubles withdrawal was due to Mertens’s shoulder, not her own injury, leaving her with no extra court time.
Shnaider −3.5 games is the line I prefer. Her left-handed serve changes the return angles, and if she keeps depth and makes Ostapenko play one more ball, the attacking dips could produce a lopsided set. A straight-sets Shnaider win is the likeliest route, with most non-tiebreak-tight scores covering; the outright price is short, while 20.5 games gives no clear lean.
The risk is Ostapenko’s shotmaking: she can steal a set, and Shnaider was knocked off rhythm by Alexandrova’s change of pace in Beijing. A narrow Shnaider win in a decider would not cover. Small edge, not a comfortable one.
Prediction: Diana Shnaider −3.5 games, odds 1.79
